Welcome future IA Tigers!

We are so excited that you are considering Innovation Academy as part of your educational journey!

How do you know if Innovation Academy is the right fit for your student? Innovation Academy students:

  • Engage in hands-on learning
  • Are dedicated to serving and learning about their community
  • Enjoy collaborating with others as they learn and grow!

At Innovation Academy, we design together, we grow together, and we innovate together. Students are challenged by committed staff and caring community partners who come together to learn through cross-content projects like renovating a school bus into a mobile medical bus, analyzing statistics of our own health and physical well being, or designing mosaics to represent our identity as a new community.

Upcoming Dates: Launch Week

First Week

Launch week is a vital part of the Innovation Academy experience! This is a time when students are able to meet their Tiger Time teacher and classmates, engage in mini-projects together, and reengage as a part of the Innovation Academy community. Here is the tentative schedule:

  • Monday: 9th graders and new IA students will experience Launch Day together, touring the school, understanding the schedule, and engaging in design challenges!
  • Tuesday through Thursday: All Innovation Academy students engage in mini-design challenges with their Tiger Time teacher and classmates. This allows students to review the Design-Thinking principles and Project-Based Learning standards while building community and connections with each other.

*Students attending our specialized FOCUS and MAPS programs may be placed outside of their neighborhood school. While we prioritize a student’s placement to be at their neighborhood school, not all schools offer all specialized programs, and other factors are also considered when making these individualized decisions. Class lists will be completed this spring and families will be notified in May.
