Family Engagement
In the Medford School District, we value family engagement. We know when families are engaged in their student’s education, students are more successful in the classroom and in life. At Innovation Academy, we provide several opportunities for families to be engaged in the school experience.
Please make sure your contact information is up to date with the school so we can ensure you are receiving important information.
NEWSLETTERS
Innovation Academy sends out our school newsletter, Innovation Insider, every month to our students, families, and staff. We also have our Facebook and Instagram pages to communicate with our families and community.
CONFERENCES
Understanding your child’s academic progress can help them do better in the classroom! That’s why we host parent-teacher conferences in late November every year. At conferences, you have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with your child's teacher(s). Watch for details from your child's school on how to sign up.
Why are conferences important?
-
They strengthen relationships between teachers and families.
-
They give families a chance to learn about their child's progress and ways they could support them.
-
Families gain a better understanding of the strengths, social development, and overall performance of their children.
How can the parents prepare?
If this is your first time attending a conference or you are not sure what to ask here are three questions for your teachers:
-
What are you noticing about my child's strengths?
-
Where do they need support the most?
-
How do they interact with other classmates?
YOUTHTRUTH SURVEY
Every year, we send our YouthTruth survey to students and families in February in an effort to learn more about how we’re doing from your perspective! We use the data to inform our school improvement plans and then share highlights of our results with you after the survey is complete.
